Hi Irene,

The Chinese people arrived on our land in 2200 B.C.

Today, there is overwhelming evidence and Chinese DNA among our people (Indigenous peoples/Native Americans) from Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, Central, and South America.

Some of the Indigenous peoples with Chinese DNA are the Hopi, Maya, Apache, Dine, Aleut, Cree, Sioux, Inca, and many other Native people of the Western Hemisphere.(Some Aztecs are also part Chinese).

I was thrilled to find your website. I shouldn't be surprised that Irene sings, it does seem to run in the family.

I hope I don't come off as a 'stalker', HA! I'm just Irene's 2nd cousin and I'd love to chat with you guys to get to know you some besides what's written here and on myspace about you. So proud of what you guys are doing with the Indian focus. Your music is very entertaining and the movies Irene has been in that we've seen are wonderful.

God bless!

Hello..Irene, I finally had the opportunity to write to you and let you know that I have been really thankful in meeting you in Casa Grande, Az. I met you at the tribal fair and I was so excited and I believe I was the only person so excited to meet you. I came with my cousin and I gave you a ring to wear and hopefully you still have that ring. It's inscripted CTR which i told you was special to me. CTR represents Choose the Right in life. Anyways I told you I would write you. I realize you have been really busy and that you are trying to accomplish many things. I think you are an amazing person who is trying so hard to do things in helping all people. I wish I could talk with you more often and just talk and shoot the breeze. LIfe is a challenge and yet you seem to make it fun and enjoyable. Keep it up and I pray the Lord above watch over you continually. One of my dream is to one day run a Treatment facility for native individuals and hopefully I find the doors to open it. Well see how it goes..Can you believe it I actually gave a chance to help raise a child from a treatment I once work at and now she is with me. I love it and I am so thankful she is in my life. I am a Dine and she is a Sioux. how interesting huh? I would like to send you a pic of us one day if you send me a mailbox. Well, maybe you can respond and if you do I sure would be grateful to you. I hope and pray you will be safe and taken care of in life and the creator look after you with many blessing and joy. You represent the Native people very well. Much love and Respect...Claudia Keith from Kayenta, Az 86033

I told them about meeting you at the POW-WOW, having you perform for us at the San Xavier Mission, and sharing dinner with you at my house. They were very surprised. I brought in the picture that you autographed for my granddaughter, Kyanna., who by the way is a beautiful child. I have to dig out the pictures of your visit to the house because they can't believe it. We think of you often.

Honestly, I have only begun to appreciate your wonderful music, and plan to purchase all of your cds. I first saw Irene in "Love's Long Journey" on christian tv, and was smitten right away. I mean, she was of such beauty, a heart as a candle would not fear to be faced to the wind. This I mean in a very flattering, humble, and sincere way. Wish you had a sister, ha-ha! Shalom and may our Heavenly Father bless you and one day usher you into His Holy presence in Heaven's glory, amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Irene & Deni,
Our family met you today at the Trickster Gallery. We enjoyed your music, loved talking with you, and laughed at the kids playing. Our older son had not seen "Pocahontas" and we were cheerfully surprised to see a very big smile on his face at the end of the movie (which he tried in vain to hide after he saw us looking at him :) If you did end up going to Lou M's for pizza, we hope you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for sharing your time and talents with everyone!

Miss Bedard, your portrayal
of Mary Brave Heart Woman in LAKOTA WOMAN really hit me hard. In 1973 I had just joined the U.S. Army, and was posted at Ft. Carson, Colorado
in the 8th Infantry REgiment. My unit was put on alert to go to Wounded Knee. I immediatrly notified my CO that I was an avid and vocal supported of AIM, and if they sent me there I would immediately join the side I believed in. The CO sent me out in the middle of Ft. Carson in a tent until the alert was over.Sorry I missed you in Benson AZ at the Horeshoe Cafe while you were filming MIRACLE AT SAGE CREEK(I have the dvd) I am also a recognized friend of the Apache Nation, and I wish yall the best!

As a young boy growing up in rural VA, I always chose to play the indian as a child. That was 40 years ago. I have always felt the injustice done Native Americans by my people have always been swept under a rock. Of all the movies I have seen in my life and travels, Dances with Wolves and Into The West I can never watch enough. Your part Into the West was remarkable. Wes Studi has always been a favorite Native American actor as well. Like many people, My participation as a Project Manager on The National Museum of The American Indian in DC was one of my most gratifying projects in the architectural woodwork industry. I met so many Native Americans during that project from all over the America's. My hope is someday to share my photos, experience of this Museum during it's construction through the completion of a long overdue facility of the rich Native American heritage given us by The People, to Native American schools. Perhaps some young student would inspire to get in the construction world. Thanks for the real movies that have shown the true Native American family of life the past 15 years. And yes, my success in this business came as a recovering alcholic. It's just that white professionals don't often admit this. Perhaps I could give hope to young student that there is opportunities beyond alcholism when one finds themself.

I was District Sup't of Local Goverment in London area and worked with all local bands in this capacity until retired in 1984. Don Issacc was Chief of your band and it was always a pleasure to work with along with all the band office employees. Have many fond memories of the Wapole Isand Band which I visited many times. My kindest regards and best wishes. Lloyd.

Thanks for visiting my booth at Tannehill. I gifted you the beltbuckle as a thank you for being there and for sharing your talent with all of us, but I sure do cherish the autographed picture that you were kind enough to give me. You and Deni were the hits of the weekend and I hope you come to Alabama again. How do I get a copy of LAKOTA WOMAN? Thanks , Steve

Hi guys... It was great meeting you both at the Tannehill Fest. Your music and stories are fantastic and your performance energy is entrancing. Having you jam with our band was a special treat and SO MUCH FUN! Thank you for your warm, kind and generous spirit!

Hey Irene, your cousin was visiting Newfoundland, Canada at our church and she surprised me by telling me that she was your first cousin and that you voiced "Pocahontas" her name is Brenda Bowely........a beautiful lady I must say. She came here for 'ladies retreat' and spoke to us. It was great! Hope things are going great for you, take care, Jesus loves you!
